The shelves are usually full of pottery. A view of the gardens out my door provides inspiration for much of my work.

Welcome to Gardenview Pottery
I am a utilitarian potter. I create pots that are visually pleasing and unique in character, but also useful in everyday life. Each piece of stoneware pottery created reflects my enjoyment for throwing, carving, sketching, embellishing, creating and using. I enjoy creating each piece with its own unique character and personality, whether I change a spout, handle, foot, rim, glaze color or decorative element. Most of my pieces are wheel thrown, but some are hand built. I enjoy making pieces that are hand carved, or altered in some way. The forms I make are usually organic in nature, which stems from my love of the balance observed in nature, and my personal preference for a fluid line. My inspirations for surfaces come from patterns in fabric, paintings, nature and historic dishware pottery.
Gardenview Pottery has open studio hours by appointment only. Please contact us through email or call 262-377-6037 to set up an appointment. The studio is located in Grafton, Wisconsin (in the Milwaukee area). Working in clay has always been a passion of mine, but finding the time and space was always difficult. The new studio space provides a view of the garden and pond set in a quiet countryside. It is a perfect setting to foster creativity.
The clay body used is a mid range stoneware that is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. All glazes are food safe. Each piece is either thrown on the potter's wheel or handbuilt. Some pieces are covered in an underglaze, and carved with various designs. Each piece of art is indivually made and no two pieces are the same.
